FAQs

This course covers everything you need to know to start building and launching applications with Oracle APEX 23. From data entry to security and deployment, it’s a full end-to-end guide for modern app development.

What is Oracle Application Express (APEX) 23?

Oracle Application Express (APEX) 23 is the latest version of Oracle’s low-code development platform for creating data-driven web applications. It enables developers to design, build and deploy secure, responsive applications that run in any modern web browser, all while integrating seamlessly with Oracle databases.

What are template components in APEX 23 and why are they useful?

Introduced in APEX 23, template components are reusable building blocks for application pages, such as cards, timelines, media lists and avatars. They can be placed wherever needed and support conditional display and looping, allowing content to be shown, hidden or repeated based on data. This makes it easier to create consistent, efficient layouts with reduced development effort.

Can I connect my app to existing Oracle database objects?

APEX integrates directly with your existing Oracle database, allowing you to build forms, reports and pages that use current tables, views or PL/SQL procedures without redevelopment. This enables you to create functional web applications from existing data and processes, making it particularly valuable for replacing spreadsheets or modernising legacy systems such as Oracle Forms.

How does the SQL Workshop in APEX help manage databases?

The SQL Workshop in APEX provides a browser-based interface for interacting with Oracle databases. It allows you to browse and edit database objects, run and save SQL queries, create and manage scripts, and review query results, making it easier to develop and maintain applications without requiring external database tools.
