This Oracle 12cR1 New Features for Administrators course is designed to give Oracle Database Administrator practical experience in using the new features available in Oracle Database 12cR1.
Delegate will gain an appreciation of how the enhanced features of Oracle Database 12cR1 may be implemented at their own site. Exercises and examples are used throughout the course to give practical hands-on experience with the techniques covered.

This Oracle 12cR1 New Features for Administrators course is designed for Oracle professionals who need to gain an understanding of and implement the new features and functionality introduced in Oracle Database 12cR1.
This Oracle 12cR1 New Features for Administrators course is designed to give existing Oracle 11g Database Administrators the knowledge and skills needed to implement the new features of 12cR1 database. The Oracle Database 12cR1 administrator will gain practical experience in administering and monitoring an Oracle 12cR1 database.
The course will aid the delegate in their preparation of the "New Features of Oracle Database 12cR1" elements of the following exam:
Note that this course does not cover the "Key DBA Skills" elements of the exam.
Attending this course will help delegates gain many of the skills and product knowledge requirements as outlined in the exam objectives. Studying this course and its associated reference materials can form part of the preparation to achieve certification. Experience, practice, self-study and aptitude are also key requirements for exam success. An integrated multifaceted exam preparation approach is recommended.
Before taking any exam, ensure you have the recommended experience. The Oracle website lists all exam requirements and these are updated regularly.
Exams are not included as part of the course.
Delegates attending the Oracle 12cR1 New Features for Administrators course should have administration experience of Oracle Database 11.2. Knowledge of using PL/SQL packages is strongly recommended.
This course is run on a Linux operating system, a good working knowledge of UNIX/Linux is required. This knowledge can be gained by attendance on the pre-requisite Linux Introduction course.
I very much enjoyed the course. The course content was spot on and delivered in a very effective manner by the instructor. The pace was good (not too fast) and meant that there was sufficient time to discuss (with other delegates and the instructor) how some of the new features could be used in practice.
