Database Administrators of small sized databases who need to carry out basic system administration tasks on Oracle Database 10g. The course is also suitable for support staff and personnel who are required to carry out occasional administration or troubleshooting tasks. This course is not aimed at delegates who are full time Database Administrators. Full time Database Administrators should attend the Oracle Database 10g DBA - Part I and Oracle Database 10g DBA - Part II courses.

This course aims to give delegates practical experience in installing Oracle Database 10g software, configuring the database, performing basic monitoring of the database and in carrying out basic administration tasks. The focus is on using Enterprise Manager to teach delegates how to carry out basic management of the database.
This course covers the main topics of the Oracle exam #IZ0-041 - Oracle Database 10g: DBA Assessment.

Requirements:

Delegates should have an understanding of relational database concepts and basic operating system knowledge.
They should also have a working knowledge of Oracle SQL*Plus,
this can be gained by attendance on the pre-requisite course. Knowledge of PL/SQL would be beneficial.
