Solaris System Administration - Part I Course Overview
This Solaris System Administration training course will give delegates practical experience in the administration of a a Sun Microsystem Solaris system up to and including Solaris version 10. Reference will be made to the Solaris commands required to administer the system as well as using the GUI tools such as admintool and the Solaris Management Console.
The delegate will gain the key skills required to prepare for the Sun Certified System Administrator Part I exam (SCSA CX-310-200). Together with the Solaris Introduction course, this course is also suitable preparation for delegates intending to sit the Sun Certified Solaris Associate exam (SCSAS CX-310-105).

Who will the Course Benefit?
This Solaris System Administration - Part I course is aimed at IT staff responsible for performing essential system administration procedures in the the Sun Microsystem Solaris operating environment.
Course Objectives
Administering Solaris systems involves many standard tasks including; starting and shutting down a system, managing printers and performing regular backups. Delegates taking this course will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to perform these tasks.
Examinations
The delegate should have attended the Solaris System Administration - Part I course for the Sun Certified System Administrator Part I (SCSA CX-310-200) exam or have equivalent skills. For the Sun Certified Solaris Associate exam (SCSAS CX-310-105) exam the delegate should also have attended the Solaris Introduction course or have equivalent skills.
Before taking any exam, ensure you have the recommended experience. The Sun Microsystems website lists all exam requirements and these are updated regularly.
Exams are not included as part of the course.
Requirements
Delegates should be familiar with using Solaris Unix shell commands and the vi editor. Knowledge of shell programming would be beneficial though not essential.
